Home and dreaming of the next adventure

South America, perhaps?

Thanks to all of you who followed us along our journey. We had a great time, and the fact that our friends & families could share our experiences from afar brought smiles to our little faces. (Too bad there isn't an olfactory equivalent to Skype).
Here are a few more photos that I thought you may enjoy.

We hiked along this trail through the rice paddies to a small artists' village where Wendy & I each bought a traditional painting and mingled with the local artisans. We shared a fresh coconut juice along the road.

Samas Cottages in Ubud. This little place was a gem. Clean & quiet and right in town, It had a pool to cool off in after a hard day of shopping!. It was reasonably priced at 150,000 IDR or about 13 USD. It is family run & our host family couldn't have been nicer.

The following 4 photos are a lake temple between Lovina beach & Ubud, Bali

The drive from lovina beach to Ubud is through the rice paddies. Rice takes a tremendous amount of human labor. It is backbreaking work, and every plant is hand cultivated. As its growing it looks a bit like verdant hair plugs.

Windy Cottage photos really make me want to go back to Indonesia! And the Ubud bungalow looks so much like where I stayed, it really brought back memories- the smell of frangipani, smoke and jungle; the heat of the day with a cool drink to make it all better.
